Persana AI review

AI prospecting, enrichment and buying signals. A look at what it was, and what happened to it.

How we review: this is a research-based roundup by a working UK B2B SaaS AE, pulling together public user reviews (G2, Capterra, Software Advice), vendor docs and pricing pages, and online discussion. It is not a hands-on test. Last checked October 2026.

Update: Persana AI is no longer available as a standalone product. In April 2026 the team joined Rox. Billing stopped on 1 April 2026, and Persana's migration guide says the platform was sunset on 2 May 2026 and all remaining data was deleted.

Verdict: Persana was a well-liked, capable AI prospecting tool with unusually good support. It's no longer something you can buy. If you used it, look at Rox, where the team now works, or at alternatives in our directory.

Who it was for

Outbound teams who wanted enrichment from many data sources, buying-signal detection and personalised outreach in one platform.

What people liked

  • Solid ratings: about 4.6/5 on G2 across roughly 40 reviews before it shut down.
  • Ease of use and support were the most mentioned strengths. Several reviewers described it as like having an extra SDR.
  • Bundled value. Enrichment, signals and workflows were in one product rather than three.

Common complaints

  • The learning curve cost credits. Reviewers said mistakes in table set-up meant rebuilding and paying for credits twice.
  • Stability. Some users said features changed or became confusing after updates.
  • Segmentation limits were reported by several reviewers.

Pricing note

The last publicly listed plans were credit-based: a free tier with 50 credits, then Starter at around $68/month billed annually, with Growth, Pro and Unlimited tiers above that. None of these can be bought any more. For anything current, check rox.com for current pricing.

Pros and cons

Pros
  • Many data sources plus buying signals in one place
  • Very responsive support
  • Competitive price for the feature set
Cons
  • Credit burn while learning
  • Features changed between updates
  • Now sunset, and data was deleted after a 30-day window

The risk (and why it already happened here)

My worry with standalone AI prospecting tools is that they get squeezed. Bigger platforms such as CRMs, sales engagement suites and the large AI companies keep adding the same features, including enrichment, signals and AI-written outreach, and they can bundle them into products you already pay for. That leaves small specialist tools with three options: become the platform, get acquired, or fade away.

Persana is a live example. It was backed by Y Combinator, had happy users and good reviews, and still went from announcement to data deletion in about a month. My advice for any tool in this category: export your data regularly, prefer monthly plans over long annual commitments, and ask vendors directly about their roadmap and runway. Don't build your whole outbound motion on one small vendor.
